About me
I had done my bachelor's and master's in Occupational Therapy at Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University.
After my bachelor's, I worked as a Mental Health Occupational Therapist for one year at Vazhikatti Mental Health Centre and Research Institute, Coimbatore. There I treated patients with acute and chronic mental health issues like Schizophrenia, Mood disorder, Mental retardation, and other Psychiatric people and had given a community speech as well. Now I'm taking a lecture for Special Educators about Occupational Therapy and the role of Occupational therapy in learning disabilities. I'm also giving Recreational training, Vocational skill training, and Stress and Anger management. I'm working along with Adult and Child Psychiatrists, Clinical psychologists, and Counseling psychologists.
During my Master's, I treated patients with Cerebral Palsy, Stroke and Head injury, Parkinson’s disease, cognitive impairment, and other balance and coordination problems. I had also treated a Coma patient and I did a project on a Cognitive Impairment patient. From 2017 -to 2020, I was working as a Pediatric Neuro Occupational Therapist at Rehab Bangalore pediatric center, Bangalore. There I treated children with all the Neuro-Developmental conditions like Cerebral palsy, Autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, Cognitive impairment, Low Vision, etc...
Next, I started my career at Aster CMI Hospital, Bangalore as a Part-time Clinical Occupational Therapist. There I treated adults with Stroke, Head injury (TBI), Burn injury, Post-surgical treatment for hand injury patients, hand function training, coma stimulation, wheelchair transferring training, functional training, etc...
At present I'm working at FAME India Special Education School, Bangalore as a Full-time Occupational Therapist and treating toddlers to adults (3 - 45 age ) with Autism, Cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, etc... and giving services like Sensory Integration Therapy, Fine Motor Training, Handwriting training, Classroom modification for student, Individual Maintenance Program for Students above 18 years.
